Leadership and Motivation |
 |
Leadership is the ability to take qualified risks with the expectation of receiving a substantial return on personal and emotional investment. By looking at the traits of successful managers and executives in many fields, it will be possible to glean their most important traits and see how you compare.
This course will cover: decision making, contingency planning (what to do when everything falls in the dumpster), strategic planning and execution, the art of risk taking, self evaluation on the 5 Point Leadership Grid, as well as numerous other soft skills necessary to be a great leader. |
|
| Management is the art of utilizing personnel to accomplish various tasks. Understanding the difference between leadership and management is a fundamental premise of modern business. Looking at various leadership styles (ranging from lassie-faire to authoritarian) will help you understand your own style. Since management is ultimately about people and relationships, an initial analysis of the balance between task orientation and people pleasing will be part of this course. |
 |
Matrix Management Essentials |
 |
Matrix management is the buzz today in the corporate world but understanding the concepts that make the matrix system function can be less than clear. In fact, making the transition between the traditional hierarchical method of management to the Matrix system can lead to Interpersonal conflict and confusion. To avoid stepping on the toes of your most valuable asset, your staff, this course will help to clarify how to make work in the Matrix system run more smoothly.
This course covers topics such as: the basics of how to manage within the Matrix driven system, strengths and weaknesses inherent in the Matrix system, the human limits of multi-tasking, the high cost of complete Interdependence, and how to deal with the Interpersonal fallout when participants have trouble adjusting to the new system, plus many other pointers for a successful transition. |

Negotiation is the ability to discuss and decide how people and corporations will share resources, both tangible and intangible, in such a way that all parties involved are satisfied with the outcome. Balancing considerations of one’s own head and heart, of the needs of self versus others and knowing when to push the limit and break with tradition or play it safe are all parts of the fine Art of Negotiation.
In this course, you will learn: how to set up a negotiation (preparation is 90% of the work), when being fair is the right thing to do, how to avoid a breakdown in the process, what to do when there is a breakdown, and the secret to win-win mutually satisfying efforts. |

Few people have a greater natural fear than that of Public Speaking. If the earth quakes every time you even think about standing up in front of a crowd, then this course will help to de-sensitize you to the pain of public discourse. Starting with the most simple introduction, and working through a series of increasingly difficult challenges with the support of the course leader and all the participants, you will soon find yourself at a new level of comfort that you never thought achievable. Throughout the course, you will receive continuous feedback and practical suggestions that will help even the most timid person improve dramatically. |
Change Management |
Rarely do teams and companies prepare for change in the magnitude that change is occurring in today’s workplace. “Managing at the Speed of Change” (Textbook for the course) requires that one identify change factors, develop contingency plans for such factors, manage “resistance” to change, develop a commitment to change, and have both the resilience to outlast the tidal waves of change that beseech you and your company.
This course will help you generate the outrageous team synergy and group unity necessary to manage change.

 |
Corporate Culture is the combination of rituals, ceremonies, expected norms and behaviors that often become the “standard” at many companies. Corporate Culture drives many of our interactions and transactions, helps us out in maintaining the “status quo” by keeping everything in equilibrium, and often limits our ability to react to change as quickly as we need to.
In this course, you will learn how to manage the culture that is everywhere around you instead of letting it manage you, as well as how to utilize the powerful underlying forces behind the “Culture” to help you achieve outrageous results in your day to day work |

Teaching and Facilitating are both very complex professions that require enormous amounts of preparation in order to do a good job in the classroom. There is an old saying that all facilitators can be teachers but not all teachers can be facilitators. Teachers convey knowledge and give information to their students (no matter how old the student, the principles of learning are always the same.) Facilitators provide knowledge but also help the students to learn by understanding the processes behind the knowledge and the facts. Facilitators teach by leading, showing the way, and using experiential techniques to bring alive the teaching. The student must be more actively involved and aggressive to get the full lesson.
In this course, you will learn not only how to be a great facilitator of learning, but how to ask for necessary feedback from students to create the two way communication necessary for true facilitation. In order to have maximum impact on your students and keep their attention throughout your entire facilitative experiential learning experience, you will not only have to carefully select your topics and tasks, but also pay incredible attention to process by which you attain your results. |

For many decades diversity has been a major topic at corporations and schools throughout the country. Frequently the focus of diversity is around race, however this is a rather narrow viewpoint. Of course respect of those that are different from us also applies to religion and disabilities as well. But even more important, diversity is about what our abilities and strengths are as well. By knowing the strengths and weakness, as well as the areas of opportunity for growth of our fellow workers or students, our ability to work effectively is increased exponentially.
In this course, you will learn the true definition of diversity and how to relate to wide range of people from diverse populations will become more apparent. Knowing your own talents and the talents of your fellow employees and being will to trust them enough to let them use their strengths can lead to dramatic increases in productivity and greater personal satisfaction. |
